Annika Huprikar is a media composer and orchestrator who values her role as an artistic collaborator. A graduate of the distinguished USC Screen Scoring Master’s program, Annika has scored several short films, as well as conducted and recorded her music at various studios in LA, including Warner Bros and Bandrika Studios. She has orchestrated for other composers on short films, video games, and concert works, and has continued contracting for recording sessions and music supervision on indie projects in NYC. She is set to score her first feature film later this year. She is also a classically-trained pianist. 

She is a graduate of the Harvard/Berklee College of Music dual program, where she got her B.A. in Computer Science from Harvard while pursuing a focus in Screen Scoring at Berklee. 

Annika describes her musical identity as a textural composer, where she gets to build unique soundscapes, design harmonic progressions, meld acoustic orchestral instruments with electronics and synths, and immerse the audience with motors and motifs that are the signature of a story’s narrative world. She especially loves scoring for narratives involving thriller, suspense, sci-fi, drama, and period piece genres.

In addition to scoring short films and indie projects, Annika has also scored projects for World View Productions and The Coca-Cola Company, recorded with Joy Music House as score producers, and written for numerous ensembles in artist residencies, including for Grammy-Award-winning groups The Crossing and The Parker Quartet. She is currently assisting a film composer and is also freelance orchestrating for other composers, working on recent projects including two short films, a video game, four orchestral works, a jazz combo, a marching band anthem, and a new-music percussion piece. Annika is a selected film composer for the Composer Lab at Golden Hornet; her score will be premiered live at the Fantastic Fest film festival in Austin, TX later this year.

Annika made her concerto debut at age 14 with the FullScore Chamber Orchestra in Chicago. She has performed twice at Carnegie Hall as a solo pianist, debuting there as a teenager with works by Rachmaninoff. She was also one of four nationally selected finalists for The American Prize in Piano Concerto Performance. She has won 1st Prize at the Illinois Music Association’s state competition and won the Granquist Competition.
